Trajectory

Trajectory (2021-2022) - Ink on paper. 19 3/4” x 26”.

Trajectory works on the ideas of the distraction of the chatter of the mind and the opening/flickering of a moment of being anchored and grounded. I use a meditative and repetitive dot application process to capture movement and dimension, and a simple line drawing floating in a simplified star field - a metaphor for passive thinking. This line drawing, an opening, an interruption, is a moment of rest from thought generation. The square openings are snapshots of remnant memories of my experiences of deserts, places where I became aware of this inside outside duality of attention.
